Ryan's Restaurant in Laurel, Mississippi

Stephanie A. Smith
I love going to Ryans. The food is really good and servive is a ton better than 99% of other restaraunts like it.

Ryan's is a buffet style resatraunt.

The location:
I have experience with the restaraubt in Laurel, Mississippi. This Ryans is on the same road as Wal-mart( I'm sorry, I can't remember the name of the road).

The menu and price:
When you go to Ryans, you walk up to the cash register and order your meal. You prepay for your food, because in the past people have just walked out without paying. When you order, you have two choices. First choice is what you want to drink. Ryans has everything from coffee and tea to soft drinks. Second choice is if you want to order a steak to go with your buffet or not. The buffet by itself is $6.50. To get a steak, the price is an additional $7.

The buffet itself has a wide variety of food to choose from. There is everything you could want for salads, including about 10 different kinds of dressing and everything you could need for tacos, burritos, and other Mexican foods. There is also foods like fried chicken, spaggetti, lasagna, chicken parmesean, roast beef, and many other foods that you can eat as your main course.

The desert partof the buffet takes up a little less than one third of the entire buffet area. The desert area is filled with quite a few of everyone's favorite sweets. For desert, you can have: chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal rasin cookies, sugar cookies, lemon merangue pie, chocolate merengue pie, fudge of many types, and soft-serve ice cream. You can put your ice cream in a cone or a little bowl. There are many toppings for a good ice cream sundaeincluding: chocolate chips, crushed oreos, sprinkles, hot fudge, and caramel. Most of these desserts also have a sugar-free counterpart. The sugar free area of the desert part is a little less than half of the total deserts. Things that come in sugar free are: all cookies, pies, and fudge.

The service:
Every host and hostess that I have ever had at Ryans has earned their tip for sure. When my family and I went there, whoever was serving us had 5 people to serve plus their other tables. They came around often to check and see if there were any plates that needed to be taken away, any cups that needed to be filled, etc. We once left a $30 tip! That was about a 75% tip.

All of the floors except right around the buffet area are carpet, but the whole place is usually very clean. The only time I have ever seen a mess was when a family was eating or had just left.

There is always plenty of seating at Ryans. Usually half of the restaraunt is closed off until the other half gets about half full. There are smoking and non-smoking sections that are closed off from one another by a half glass wall.

Ryans restaraunt is the singular best restaraunt that I have ever been to.
