Ryvita is a whole grain rye crisp bread that you can find in your local grocery store. Ryvita is a product of Great Britain. I love the two new flavors which are Sunflower Seeds & Oats and Pumpkin Seeds & Oats. However, I will tell you this. Ryvita is not for everyone due to the texture.

The texture of Ryvita is something I enjoy because I love to be able to taste the whole seeds and oats. It keeps me chewing longer. And because of that, it helps curb my appetite. It keeps me from snacking because it fills me up. However, if I was to give this to my children, they would probably say it taste like twigs in their mouth. Because Ryvita is a rye crisp bread it does have a dry chew.

Ryvita's Sunflower Seeds and Oats have only natural ingredients like whole grain rye flour, sunflower seeds, and whole grain oats. Ryvita's Pumpkin Seeds and Oats have the same ingredients except substitute the sunflower seeds for pumpkin seeds.

Ryvita's Sunflower Seeds & Oats have 45 calories per 1 slice. It has 1 gram of total fat, 2 grams of dietary fiber, 1 gram of sugar, and 1 gram of protein. There are 17 slices in the box.

Ryvita's Pumpkin Seeds & Oats have 60 calories per slice. It has 1.5 gram of total fat, 2 grams of dietary fiber, 1 gram of sugar and 2 grams of protein. There are 15 slices in the box.

Both products sell for $3.69. As you can see, the Pumpkin Seed & Oats give you a better fiber and protein intake. Each brand has even 2% of iron per slice. These are both a very nutritious snack.

Both of the products have a low Glycemic Index which means they are digested slowly by providing a gradual release of sugar in the blood stream. This will sustain your energy level.

Either product would be a good quick snack to keep in your purse if you ran out of the house without eating and later felt hungry.
There are many ways you can eat these products. Here are some of my suggestions:

Try spreading peanut butter on them.

Use them as appetizers with cheese spreads or luncheon meats.

Try spreading jelly or one of my favorites, Nutella.

You can just about put anything on them and they will give you a wonderful nutty flavor. The best part is that it is a wholesome snack for a balanced diet.
