S1111 Tri-band Touch Screen Cell Phone

Quality from China?

I found the S1111 Tri-band Touch screen cell phone while surfing online for a little over $100.00. It is a touch screen phone, similar to the Apple iPhone, but at a fraction of the cost. What could go wrong with that?

A lot, as it turned out. I made the mistake of purchasing the S1111 Tri-band Touch screen cell phone, and while the touch screen aspect of it is nice to have, be aware that it is very sensitive. Perhaps it is a bit too sensitive. You touch one application, and if you are not 100% spot on the icon, forget it. You have just chosen a different application.

The FM radio function is spotty at best, and telescoping antenna that folds out from the side of the S1111 Tri-band Touch screen cell phone is flimsy, and really doesn't pick up many stations.

I tried the television function of the S1111 Tri-band Touch screen cell phone, and realized that it was made prior to the switchover to digital television. Guess what! No television. Oh well, that was not the main reason I got the S1111 Tri-band Touch screen cell phone in the first place. I wanted it for all the other functions that it is supposed to do. Besides that I find the idea of trying to watch television on a three inch screen to be beyond ridiculous anyway.

The S1111 Tri-band Touch screen cell phone does make phone calls, but the quality of the calls you make is questionable. I had trouble hearing anyone I spoke to, and in turn I was repeatedly asked to repeat myself.

One good thing was the camera that is built into the S1111 Tri-band Touch screen cell phone. It is a 1.3 megapixel, which is not much when you stop to consider, but for a cell phone, it really isn't bad. Strangely enough the pictures I could take with the S1111 Tri-band Touch screen cell phone are better than the calls I can make with it.

The organizer on the S1111 Tri-band Touch screen cell phone is not bad, but attempting to type using the touch screen leaves a lot to be desired.

I have had the S1111 Tri-band Touch screen cell phone for less than a month, and I plan to return it. If you want a phone that is similar to the Apple iPhone, trust me. Spend the money and get an Apple iPhone. The S1111 Tri-band Touch screen cell phone is really not worth what I paid to have the thing shipped.
