COLOR
In the pot, Sabine looks like nothing special- an average medium brown. When you swatch it, you see it's true colors. It is a nice chocolate brown with a frosty undertone. The biggest surprise, however, is the glitter. Amongst the beautiful spectrum of browns, there is pink glitter. The pink is medium in tone, and not tacky in any way. This shadow is sophisticated, but the glitter gives it a fun, girly touch. This is great in a flirty smoky eye or a darker neutral eye. It would also be great as en eyeliner in a pink and brown look.
FORMULA
The next big surprise was the pigmentation. I am a MAC girl, but the Aromaleigh formula is amazing. These shadows are comparable to MAC pigments in color and texture. This shadow is very soft and easy to blend. If someone told me it was a MAC pigment, I could go on my whole life, not being able to tell the difference. Sabine is a tiny bit sheer compared to a MAC pigment, but when you pack the color on, the sheerness is gone. I like this formula so much, that I ordered ten new colors yesterday. If you try this formula, you will not be disappointed.
FUNCTIONALITY
As I stated before, Sabine goes with many colors or could be worn alone for a simple, yet sexy eye. It blends so well and while the glitter does add a little texture, I hardly notice it. I have used this shadow dry and wet, and it works great either way. Wet, it is a little harder to use, but it blends really, really well. I have also used this as eyeliner, and I am in love. This shadow has so many uses and can be easily pressed to go in any palette.
PRICE
When you look at the makeup market today, a quality product can be pricey. With this shadow, that is not the case. Right now, this shadow is on sale for 25% off with the rest of the BĂȘte Noire family. That means, it is $6 while it usually retails for $8. For $8 (or $6 until September 23rd), you get 1.2 grams of product. For $14.50 at MAC, you get 1.5 grams of product. So, while you're not saving a whole lot, it's still a great deal and well worth it in my opinion.
FINAL OPINIONS
This shadow is a beautiful color and in my opinion, completely worth it for the price. This is a brown unlike any I have ever seen, and can be used on any age group, young or old. It is sophisticated, chic, young, and flirty all at the same time. The formula is fabulous as is the color payoff, making it a must in anyone's collection. Sabine eyeshadow can be purchased at aromaleigh.com and should be as it is fabulous!
