You are invited to a book signing being held by Miss Raznik at the Pike County Library located at 119 College Street in Pikeville, Kentucky on August 18th,2008 at 2:00 pm
Below is the blurb on the back of the book, some biographical information, and a review:
'EXPERIENCE IS A CHANGELING', that explains all our lives. We 'follow hope' whether on a 'Tibetan Mountain', part of the 'blue, manic Mardi Gras'; know well the 'burnt-biscuit skin of New Jersey' or the 'sexuality of Morocco'. Form day to day we follow it through a labyrinth of emotion, vowing 'I'll come back', for this 'Dumb hillbilly has a few more things up' her 'sleeve', as you will see. Let the 'good language' of Sabne Raznik's 'safe place' 'rush over' you 'like horses'. She is 'humming a melody' we 'only ever hear in' our dreams.
Sabne Raznik-29 years of the love of language. She lives in the Appalachian Plateau Region of Eastern Kentucky. Her credits include membership in the Academy of American Poets since 1998; a lifetime member of the Kentucky State Poetry Society; a member of Poetry Ireland since 2003; inclusion in Marquis Who's Who of American Women since 2004. Raznik has been published in theUnited States of America, the United Kingdom, and on the Internet. She has been compared to the infamous Bob Dylan, giving rise to the playful title of the 'Rock-n-Roll Poet'.
The acclaimed Irish poet Brendan Kennelly said of this first printing, "The language is haunting; in fact the entire book reads like a haunted, lyrical, warm, violent, wounded love poem in which togetherness and a chilly gulf of separation vie with each other, and hurt is inseparable from loving passion. Fingers is one of the most powerful poems I've read for a long time. This book doesn't really get laid aside; it walks the streets of Dublin with me. For this I thank you."
To order this great collection of poems go to Sabne's web site at www.sabneraznik.com. The official website for the Pike County Public Library District, including the Pikeville Public Library, is www.informationplace.org.
You are most welcome to attend.
