Sacramento Airport: The Best Northern California Airport Option

Often people do not have the convenience of picking which airport they will be able to fly out of. In California though we are very fortunate to often have lots of options. If you are in Southern California for example, or if you are in LA you can choose LAX, Ontario, or Orange. In Northern California you can choose between San Francisco, Sacramento, San Jose, or Oakland. Unless you are very close to the bay area airports or have a flight that goes somewhere outside of North America, then Sacramento might be the best option for you to fly out of.

One reason that Sacramento is a good airport to fly out of is because it is much cheaper. In fact, my last flight had people from Oregon come down to fly out of SFO because it was so much cheaper then flying out of Portland for them. Sacramento is much cheaper then San Francisco and even Oakland.

You might be concerned that being cheaper means it is a worse airport but that is not the case at all. In fact in many ways it is actually a really good airport. Not being as big it is not as busy. This does mean you are a little limited in plane choices but unless you are going out of North America you should have plenty of choices. Sacramento is an international airport so it does offer destinations in all the US and even Mexico.

When Sacramento became an international airport it greatly improved its facilities. The airport built a big parking structure instead of only having parking outside. More terminals were added along with more baggage pick up locations.

Sacramento also has many amenities that are missing from other airports as well. One great thing that Sacramento offers is they have free wi-fi. Free wi-fi can be a god send for those that have half their life on the computer. If you forget something and need the Internet to check it out at the airport this is no problem. Besides having free wi-fi there are other added free amenities such as plenty of charging stations for laptops, cell phones, or other electronic devices. The food area has lots of charging stations.

Being so much cheaper then the other Northern California airports makes Sacramento a great option to fly out of. Even if the prices were the same being less hectic and busy the airport is a great choice. With so many amenities as well Sacramento is a great airport to go to.
