These in my opinion are not fans, they are part of today's congregation of "what have you done for me lately, we want to win now" type of fan base. True fans are with a team and coach win, loose, or draw for the duration. I believe these type of fans are first probably not originally from Arkansas, if they are they are of the younger generation and do not know what it means to be a true fan. They have no loyalty. I have been a razorback fan since 1964 I have been with them from the lowest points to the highest.
I do not believe Arkansas can win a national championship in today's era, we just do not have the overall talent. I believe they will be a 7-10 win a season team and will win a portion of the bowls we go to. That is just the way it is. So called fans that want more are fine, but when it comes to bashing the coach and some of the players for the way the games turn out, these are not true fans at all. Any given weekend one team can beat another; sometimes the teams they play are just more talented.
Sometimes bad things such as interceptions or fumbles happen. The "luck of the Irish" does not always fall on the home team. Look at Stanford against USC this year for example.
USC should have demolished Stanford, but Stanford won by 1 point. When things don't always go our way, we need to look at it like there is next week and if it really goes bad there is next year. Although the coach takes responsibility for the play calling and personnel on the field, he is not actually out there playing.
He can' t hold everyone's hand all the time to make sure they never make mistakes. Bad things do happen, that is just part of the game. Now let's start showing some more respect and support the team and coach and not drag down the program. I know it happens everywhere today not just here, but it really hurts the program and makes us look really bad. If these fans do not want to support the coach and the team by not going to the games that is of course their choice. They need to understand though this is not just about the coach, this hurts the entire program, it hurts the players, it hurts the other fans and it hurts the overall program from recruiting on down. They just need to keep their comments of negativity to themselves. If they cannot openly support the team then don't penalize them by spouting negativity on how the program is run.
