In February 2010, Sade released their first studio album in ten years. The album, like their others before, was critically acclaimed and hit number one for three weeks after its release, selling over 1 million copies. The band last toured in support of their "Lover's Rock" CD in 2001 to the joy of audiences everywhere and there's no doubt that this latest endeavor will match the last.
The press release on the band's website (see link below) says that they will be performing "songs from their collection of timeless hits including songs from their critically acclaimed album." Sade plans to do more than 50 shows on the North American leg of the tour, which is set to begin June 16th, 2011 in Baltimore, Maryland. Here are the set dates so far:
June 16 - Baltimore, MD, 1st Mariner Arena
June 19th - Philadelphia, PA, Wells Fargo Arena
June 21st - Uniondale, NY - Nassau Coliseum (on sale 10/18)
June 24th - East Rutherford, NJ - Izod Center (on sale 10/18)
June 28th - Toronto, ON - Air Canada Centre (on sale 10/16)
June 30th - Montreal, QC - Bell Centre (on sale 10/16)
July 6th - Boston, MA - TD Garden (on sale 10/18)
August 5th - Chicago, IL - United Center (on sale 10/18)
August 19th - Los Angeles, CA - Staples Center (on sale 10/18)
August 30th - Anaheim, CA - Honda Center (on sale 10/18)
Additional dates are being worked out as of the time of this piece, but potential cities to be added to the list of dates include Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Calgary, AB; Cleveland, OH; Dallas, TX; Detroit, MI; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Houston, TX; Kansas City, MO; Las Vegas, NV; Louisville, KY; Memphis, TN; Milwaukee, WI; New Orleans, LA; Oakland, CA; Orlando, FL; Phoenix, AZ; Pittsburgh, PA; Portland, OR; Sacramento, CA; San Diego, CA; San Jose, CA; Seattle, WA; St Paul, MN; and Vancouver, BC.
Tickets for the shows will be available on October 16th and 18th, depending on the show and can be purchased at livenation.com. Check out the website for more details.
