Not far from the Discovery Center is the Oaklands Historic House Museum. Although not exclusively designed for children, the museum sponsors several events and programs for children throughout the year including Pastime Days and Easter egg hunts.
Just a few miles from Murfreesboro is the town of Smyrna, home of the Sam Davis Mansion. Several events for kids are offered throughout the year like teddy bear teas and family dinner and movie nights.

Teddy Bear Tea
Saturday, March 7
Dress in your Sunday best and bring along your favorite teddy bear as we invite you to attend the Teddy Bear Tea in the Creek House on Saturday, March 7, 2009 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. This tea party will be a wonderful way for young ladies ages 4-10 to spend a few hours with their favorite bear and special lady, whether she be her mother, grandmother, aunt, older sister, or anyone else they wish..
The Teddy Bear Tea is $8 per guest, excluding teddy bears, and can be paid for the day of or prior to the date. Reservations are required.
