Now if you want to enjoy your back yard in the spring and summer without pesky mosquitoes I highly recommend you get rid of any items are areas that contain water, unless it's a pound. I also recommend you mow any high grass and weed areas. Reason why you want to mow high grass and weed and rid anything that might contain water around your house is because those are the main spots mosquitoes love hanging out in because there warm, wet, and humid. Mosquitoes love moister. Another thing I would recommend doing in your yard is to plant some plants that mosquitoes hate the smell of around the boarded of your landscape such as basil, marigolds, lemon grass, garlic, onions, and catnip. I would even recommend you to place some hang flower pots with some of these plant in them around your house as well and in places where you enjoy being outside. Doing these simple things in your yard will greatly cut down the mosquitoes in your yard during the spring and summer seasons.
Another great way to keep mosquitoes away from your home is to use bat houses. All you have to do is get a couple or make a couple of bat house and stick them up in the trees around your property line. The reason bat house work so well at keeping mosquitoes away is because bats enjoy eating mosquitoes as a meal and mosquitoes are attracted to the bat houses because they are usually warm and moist inside.
Other great ways to keep mosquitoes away when your outdoors is by using bug repellent sprays and bug repellent lotions. Some of the best products out there to use for bug repellent sprays and lotions are bug guard from Avon Company and off from Johnson Company. Those two companies sell bug repellent with sunscreen in them as both a lotion and a spray and they don't smell horrible like some bug sprays. Those products are two of the best and most affordable products to use when trying to keep mosquitoes away out on long walks by the lake or on long hikes.
Another great way to keep mosquitoes from you when you don't have bug spray on you is to take a drier sheet with baby oil on it and rub it onto you or carrier it with you while you go outside. This method has been known to keep the mosquitoes far away because they hate the smell of drier sheets and baby oil together. It's doesn't matter what scent you use either so don't worry about getting the right scented drier sheets. One more great way to keep mosquitoes away while seating outside at night time at home or at a camp ground is to use citronella candles. All you would have to do is light your citronella candles and place them all around the area you're sitting in. I know this method keeps mosquitoes away for sure.
I hope after reading this article some of you can go back to enjoy the outdoors during the spring and summer seasons. Try some of the ideas I mentioned above to keep those mosquitoes away and start beginning to enjoy the outdoors again without getting bitten by those pesky mosquitoes.
