Safety Tips for Your Holiday Party

John Vann
The Holiday season and Christmas is drawing near, and for many this means one thing - get as much partying done as you can before the year is over. And there are indeed many parties during this time of the year. But there a few tips for you to keep in mind while enjoying your Holiday season - especially if you plan on hosting a party.

Always remember, safety first! The best party is a safe party, we can all agree on that. And as such, you should always take every precaution to make sure all of your guests remain safe. This includes inviting designated drivers to the party, calling taxis for people and possibly even taking the keys away from some of your friends.

Some party hosts even invite their guests to stay the night. This is a great idea, especially during the Holiday season. The roads are usually bad this time of the year, and as we have said before, there are a lot of parties going on right now. And just because you are partying safely and responsibly, doesn't mean that everybody else is. For this reason, it is better to avoid travel when at all possible - especially during late nights in the Holiday season.

If possible, try to avoid using glass bottles at your party. A lot of times they just end up getting dropped and broken, and the glass may cause an accidental injury - or it could even be used as a weapon if, for some reason things happen to get out of control. Instead, purchase your beer in cans, and any alcohol or liquor in plastic bottles if they are available. These are much safer to have around at a party than a bunch of glass bottles.

Also, a proper party host tries not to get too intoxicated. After all, it is your household and if things get out of control, you are going to be expected to take care of it. This may include talking with the police, breaking up an argument between friends, and more.

Finally, remember to recycle all of the containers after the party is over. Americans produce a lot of trash during the Holiday season with all of our gift boxes and wrapping paper - there is no need to contribute to the garbage pile more with cans and plastic bottles. Your local recycling center will be more than happy to take all of this off from your hands; of course you'll have to bring it to them.

During the holiday season, having a designated driver is so important, because usually a lot more drinking goes on. Thanks for this very important article! I will pass it on to any one I know is having a holiday party!
