Safety Tips for Trick or Treating

Amanda Dean
Many parents and children will go out trick-or-treating this Halloween. Although I'm sure that my child and I will enjoy the holiday, it can also be very stressful.

To ease the stress:

Always have a flashlight in case the streets you are traveling down are having street light issues or that may be a lot darker then you think they will be.

If your children's costumes are dark costumes, I would put a few pieces of reflector tape on their costumes for a bit of added safety.

If you have children who maybe old enough to go on there own with friends. These are a few tips to help ease mom and dads minds.

Make sure your children go in groups of at least 3 or more. Never allow your son or daughter go trick or treating alone.

Designate certain areas for your children to go trick or treating too. Pick an area that's not too far away but also not to close. So that your children don't think that your babying them.

Make sure if you are allowing your children to go for a couple of hours that you have , your children check in at least once.

Also make sure that your children know to never go inside of someone house to get any type of candy.

Parents please make sure that you and your children are checking there candy. Throw away anything that is already opened or even looks suspicious. Also parents just go over this rules with your children before they go trick or treating. Trick or treating can be a fun and exciting experience. Trick or treating can also be a very scary and stressful time for mom and dad. Well I hope this helps all of the parents and children out there, and have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN.
