Sailing

Mike Powers
Sailing
On the waters
Toward a blue horizon
Far beyond the ocean's bound'ry,
Out there...

Carried
By gently undulating waves
Across the vast expanse
Of time and tide,
I sail.

Steady
Are my hands upon the rudder
Of my tiny vessel
As I now sail
Onward.

Nothing
Will deter me
From my destination;
I will sail, always fixed upon
My course.

Someday,
I will arrive
At that blue horizon -
The meeting place of sun and sky
And sea...

I love the poem and I love the picture! I think sailboat pictures are my favorite! Years ago I searched and searched for a large sailboat picture for my living room but I never found one that I liked. I've moved since then and a sailboat picture wouldn't work in my living room now. I wish I were half as talented as you! Mike, you really have a way with words. Does it come easy to you? 5*

Sailing is one experience in which loneliness can be beautiful. Thanks for the sentiments.

In a way, it is like our voyage of life as we slowly moves towards our destination. Makes me reflect on my life. Soulful poem, Mike - siva
