but please forgive me if I don't break out in spontaneous elation.
It's not that I'm cold-hearted, jaded or mean,
it's just I've grown weary of being pinched for not wearing green!
Come on, just what kind of cruel religious superstitious expression
teaches children to pinch non-green wearers to teach us a lesson?
What happened oh Saint Patty to the teachings of turn the other cheek?
I forget to wear green so you forget to be meek?
What if I just bust out with a punch to your nose?
Will you patron saints still patronize me because of my ungreen clothes?
Or will you look at me in shock, terror and dread
just because in Christmas spirit I colored your green with blood red!
But now that we've got it all out into the open with preferences spoken,
go ahead, pinch away, break my skin and it's your bones that are broken!
Pinch, pinch, pinch cowards, pinch me with glee and I'll just chuckle
Just don't forget to be joyful with me when I return your kindness with expressions and lessons from my knuckles!
