Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints offense have been struggling as they head into the NFL Playoffs. The New Orleans Saints scored 30 points or more in six of their last eight games and then only scored 40 points combined in their last two games.
The New Orleans Saints running game has been sketchy this season due to numerous injuries to all three primary running backs. Now two of the running backs, Chris Ivory and Reggie Bush are healthy heading into the NFL Playoffs and Pierre Thomas may be ready to go against the Seattle Seahawks also. The running game currently ranks 28th among the 32 NFL teams.
Brees has been one of the best NFL passers over the last five years and this season has been no different. Drew Brees is averaging 277 yards per game passing this season which ranks third among passing offenses. The New Orleans Saints most prolific receiver is Marques Colston with only 1,023 yards receiving this season. Brees likes to spread the ball around and he has spreads the wealth to his pass catchers.
The Seattle Seahawks defense is very weak against the pass. They rank 27th against the pass and they are giving up almost 250 yards per game through the air. The Seattle Seahawks defense is not much better against the run. They rank 21st against the run and they are giving up 118 yards per game on the ground. The New Orleans Saints offense will shred the Seattle Seahawks defense.

The New Orleans Saints defense loves to gamble and they are molded in their defensive leaders image. Darren Sharper is an aggressive secondary player that can take over a game. The secondary of the New Orleans Saints is one of the best in the NFL. They rank fourth against the pass and they are giving up 193 yards per game. Run defense for the New Orleans Saints is below average and they are giving up 112 yards per game.
The Seattle Seahawks offense has struggled this season and their running game is non existent. The running game ranks 31st in the NFL and has been inconsistent all season. Marshawn Lynch was brought in from the Buffalo Bills in a trade and he has failed to help establish a strong running game also.
Passing is also not a strength of the Seattle Seahawks this season. They rank 19th in the NFL in passing and they are not the worst passing team in the NFL Playoffs. That distinction belongs to the Baltimore Ravens. Matt Hasselbeck should be healthy for this game and he will get the start but if he struggles Pete Carroll will pull him for Charlie Whitehurst. The New Orleans Saints defense has the edge over the Seattle Seahawks offense.
