Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Nail Polish: A Product Review

Alexis Valentine
Sally Hansen has a whole line of beauty products everything from makeup to nail products. From my days working at Walgreens as an beauty advisor I would say that their nail products are much more popular than their makeup line. I'm not sure why that is, perhaps their nail products just work better. I never used to buy Sally Hansen products until one day I had some trouble with a cracked nail and it would've ended painfully had I just left it or tried to pull it out. Instead I tried one of Sally Hansen's nail healing product and it worked so well that I started trying some of their other nail products. One product that I have is Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme nail polish.

About

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme nail polish comes in 30 colors too choose from. It has as an easy grip nail polish handle that is suppose to make using it effortlessly and easy to control. Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme nail polish is made with bioactive glass that bonds to nail proteins that serves to create hard, finished nails that is meant to last up to seven days. The nail polish costs $3 and can be found at any drug stores, Wal-Mart or Target.

My Experience
Pros

I've been using Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme nail polish for many years now and there's quite a few things I like about this nail polish. I like that this nail polish goes on thin but doesn't dry clumpy or leaves streaks. Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme nail polish is buildable, which means that if I wanted the color to show up darker or create a thicker looking nail all I have to do is add a few more coats. I find that this nail polish doesn't chip easily, nor does it peel. Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme nail polish lasts fairly long too. On my toe nails the colors will last several weeks before I have to redo them. On my finger nails with a topcoat it can last up to a week before chipping around the base of my nails.

Cons

I only have a few complaints about Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme nail polish. The first thing I noticed about this nail polish is that without a topcoat and only one coat the polish is very vulnerable to scratches. The size of this nail polish is considerably smaller than most nail polishes but still costs about the same.

Verdict

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme nail polish is no doubt a long lasting, quality nail polish. It comes in more color choices than most nail polish brands but the price for the size seems like a rip off. Even so, I would still buy more of this nail polish because it's no doubt a good product. So they skimped a little on the product, it's nothing I can't live without.
