I recently purchased Sally's Spa for my iPod Touch for $2.99. At the time, I felt this was a bit pricey. However, after playing Sally's Spa quite frequently, I believe it was well worth the money. Life for our family lately has been stressful. Economic factors have been playing on the nerves of everyone in the family. When I need "mommy time", I take my iPod touch into my room and open up Sally's Spa.
The act of thinking about Sally's Spa causes me to think, dream and imagine going to a spa. This makes it a great mommy game. The simple thought process of thinking about going to a day spa helps me to relax. Imagining myself at a spa can actually reap some of the benefits of a spa. While playing the game, I often feel my body relax and my heart rate slow down.
Additionally, it is fun to have a challenge with consequences that have no bearing on reality. If I make a mistake and make a customer mad, it is simply a person formed of pixels. The knowledge of knowing my decisions while playing the game are so unimportant relax and de-stress me. I have a secret too: sometimes I even like to tick off the little pixel prima donas. It can be hilarious to give the little pixel dudes silly eyebrows and even more hilarious when the pixel people want hilarious eyebrow waxes done to their faces!
I typically do not spend more than 99 cents on a game and usually I like to download only the free games. Spending $2.99 was quite a risk. Luckily, it is a risk I do not regret. I have also purchased games like Monopoly and Scrabble and I have been very disappointed. Sally's Spa was an unknown game application which was recommended to me by the Genius filter on my iPod Touch. I took a risk purchasing the game. I am so glad I took the risk and bought it.
There are a few things I hope the game manufacturers choose to add. Sally's Spa ended quite suddenly. I wish the game had more levels to make the purchase a better value for the money. I also wish there were other options. Perhaps a secondary stage with different aspects of a Salon included.
All in all the game is a good value for the money and worth purchasing by those who like time management games.
