Every woman loves to change her hairstyle. I have extremely curly, frizzy hair that I personally cannot stand. Over the years, I have been using different products and hair straighteners in order to straighten my hair and get the look I get when I first get a haircut and style. After going through many different brands of hair straighteners, the perfect ones are the Paul Mitchell smoothing irons with temperature controls. The temperature controls are great for anyone who has highlights or has dyed their hair. It allows you to keep the iron at a lower temperature reducing the risk of drying out your hair or causing breakage. If you have color treated hair, you definitely want to get a straightener with temperature controls. It is a must.

Once I shampoo and condition my hair, I use Paul Mitchell's "Quick Dry" product in my hair. Once I apply this throughout my hair, I blow dry using a regular ventilated brush. Once my hair damp and not soaking wet, I switch to my round brush and I start straightening my hair using my round brush while I continue to blow dry. This will straighten it out as much as possible. Once my hair is completely dry, I use the cooling feature on my blow dryer and I run my fingers through my hair while blowing the cool air throughout.

After my straightener is hot and ready, I section my hair and I start with the lower section. I take small sections at a time, spray them lightly with a "Sebastian Laminates Frizz Control Hairspray" and I proceed straighten that section. Once complete, I move to the next section and so on and so forth. Once I am finished, I will use a "Biolage" shine product to maintain the shine in my hair and to reduce flyaways.

When I am finished with this process, I may notice a few flyaways. I use the hairspray, spray on my hand, and run my fingers through the area with flyaways. Once that is done, my hair is flawless, perfect, and I am looking just like I left the salon.

I have had different lengths of hair and the flat iron that I use by Paul Mitchell is by far the best. In my experiences, I have also tried the Chi and also some cheaper flat irons from Target or Wal-Mart. I prefer the Paul Mitchell as I get superior results every time. I also like the skinny plates of the Paul Mitchell because they allow you to get extremely close to the scalp and minimize any curl left in your hair. You cannot go wrong if you purchase that straightener. I am convinced you don't even really need to use product and the iron is simply enough, even for my curly, frizzy hair!
