Most people are familiar with salsa and think of it as a tomato-onion-bell pepper condiment to use as a snack with tortilla chips. Many also have a knowledge of green chiles, a staple in Mexican cooking. It's probably a safe bet, however, that not everyone knows about the best-kept secret north of the Rio Grande ... Cannon's Sweet HotsĀ® Salsa. Sweet Hots is a green chile salsa with a versatility that makes it delicious at every meal. Yes, even for breakfast, and definitely for a snack.
Flavor: Slightly sweet/spicy flavor. The mild version has "more flavor than spice," and the hot has a "spicy glow at the top range of medium heat," according to the Cannon/The Truck Farm website.
Serving size: 2 tablespoons.
Servings per container: 9 in a nine-ounce jar.
Calories: 25 per serving.
Vitamin C: 50% of the daily-required amount. Green chiles are very high in vitamin C, and so make a nutritious snack.
Price: $5.95-6.95 for a nine ounce jar. Although that price is probably more than one would pay for a regular jar of salsa from the grocery store, the flavor makes it worth the cost. It's also available at the company's website in case lots that have a discounted price.
Availability: Cannon's Sweet Hots Salsa may be found in various retail stores throughout the country, at online gift stores such as Celestial Creations, served in restaurants such as Silverheels Restaurant in Colorado, or purchased directly from Cannon/The Truck Farm site.
Uses: Sweet Hots Salsa goes with almost anything. I've used it to top scrambled eggs, spread it as a condiment on grilled hamburgers, and used it as a snack with tortilla chips. Some other suggested uses are mixed into hamburger patties, added to potato salad (which I'd like to try this summer), or spread as a topping on baked potatoes. The salsa may be utilized in any way that a red salsa would be used, plus any other innovative ways the cook can think up.
The Sweet Hots Salsa label states, "A unique taste treat. Use this savory flame-roasted green chile to enhance the flavor of your favorite food." I totally agree and heartily enjoy it.

The hotter the better. Enjoyed this review.
Great review, i love all salsa, this sounds like a great one1
Great review! A bit pricey though. I am growing a salsa garden, and I use peppers in virtually everything that we eat.
