Tye dyed hippies
Under a magnolia sit mellow
And play frisbee
With a vegitarian dog named Hendrix.
As the drummer shows the crowd
To find the beat inside called mother's love,
Boys in Greek jackets hand flowers
To coquettes with cute haircuts
Who pretend not to smile.
The fellas walk across the quad
Toward the glasshouse
To pick up a case and a dime sack
For an afternoon session at the checkerboards
Where the dogwoods are lovely
On Fridays in April.
The balmy breezes warm the body
And quicken the mind.
