The overall setting was relaxed, dim, and comfortable. The usual hustle of a fast-paced restaurant was not present at all. It made me feel relaxed and I was able to converse with my friends at ease. Another thing I really liked about Sam B's is that unlike many of the restaurants in downtown BG, you can actually hold a conversation with someone without screaming to the top of your lungs. It is the perfect place to go if you are trying to get to know someone special.
As far as the food, Sam B's has a delicious assortment of tasty dishes. You can start off with an appetizer; you're choice of a fresh, crisp garden salad with all of the fixings, or a creamy spinach artichoke dip that is unlike many other dips made in other restaurants. Another appetizer option is an order of succulent, fresh shrimp served in a crystal glass filled with tangy, flavorful cocktail sauce. From the main course selection, the meal that really stuck out was the Florentine. It was creamy and cheesy goodness that was accompanied by perfectly cooked pasta. It was extremely delicious.
I also got a chance to taste a bacon cheeseburger. Now I must say that this burger was one of the tastiest burgers I have had in a long time. The bread was a buttery toasted bakery bun that housed a medium, juicy hand-made patty of beef. It did not cost extra to request all of the additional toppings I wanted. In addition to a great burger, the fries were amazing on their own. There was an option to add Cajun seasoning to the fries which really topped it off.
The customer service was admirable. Everyone there was really friendly and make sure that we were satisfied as best as we could be. I believe that the dessert selection could have been a bit more selective, but the desserts that they did have available did seem scrumptious and unique. Overall, I truly enjoyed my visit to Sam B's and it did not cost me an arm and leg. It was affordable, good food in a great atmosphere. I look forward to my next visit, and hope to see you there!
