Sam Edelman Karla Lace Up Boot

New Women's Karla Boot from Sam Edelman and Other Styles to Compare

Here is a real eye-catcher in the Sam Edelman collection coming into the fall season of 2011; the Sam Edelman Karla Boot. It is constructed from fine leather for the upper part of the boot, with a lace up design and some subtle stitch details to just barely set off the look. It has a bit of a cushioned sole for comfort as well.

This boot has the perfect "tough" and "elegant" look combined - and is a new and interesting look in the Edelman collection. It rises up to the lower-calf level. It comes in choices of Stone Suede, Black and Whiskey leather styles, and has a retail price of around $150.

While this boot in itself is a great pick, there are also some truly gorgeous lace-up boots being released this year '" the below are the ones that appear to not only have the most similarity but seem to be ramping up to be quite popular styles this year:

Steve Madden Graanie Boot: This new boot from the Steve Madden collection has a very cute name, based on a look that might befit one's grandmother, but is the perfect addition to any woman's wardrobe. This selection has a bit more of a pointed toe compared to the Karla boot, and the lacing has a thinner and more subtle look which more closely aligns with a retro look. It comes in Cognac and Black leather versions, both of which are quite sleek. It is available for around $130 when full retail price is paid.

Dolce Vita Madrona Boot: The Madrona boot is another quite sleek look, when compared to the Karla one might say that it features a bit more of a rustic look, while still bearing the general look of a lace-up, lower calf height boot. It comes in Desert and Black for colors, and has a full retail price of around $220.

Frye Sabrina 6G Boot: The Sabrina 6G boot also features a lace up style with approximately the same height, but it has a look that is a bit more "stand-out-ish" as opposed to a subtler look. The outsole on this boot gives this boot a bit more of a rugged look, while a bit of a higher heel lends a touch of femininity, a bit of a contradiction but there is no lack of style here. Colors available include some earthy shades including Burnt Red, Clay, Grey, Saddle and Walnut. The full retail price on this boot is around $250, but just recently I have seen it for a marked down price in one of the colors.

In my honest and humble opinion, any one of the boots above would be great choices '" all of them have a great vintage sort of a look, and each one of them including the Sam Edelman Karla lace up boot are available to purchase online for at retail or lower cost, and most often with no charges for shipping or returns.
