I was on Facebook today and a cousin of my nieces had 'shared'
an old photo which was posted by someone else. I liked that photo
so I then looked at a display of other old photos posted by that same person. Looking at those old photos then inspired this poem/song.

i was looking at some photos
someone posted there
one day
even though i did not know these folks
i was prompted then to say
all these photos look familiar
to me now
they mesh with what i remember
i remember somehow
all the hairstyles looked the same
way back then
that girl in that one photo
why,
she could have been my twin
and that car could've been my daddy's
i remember it so well
and the woman there in the apron
looked like my mama, i could tell
i could tell she was just country
country as could be
oh how those photos
resemble and how they
do remind me
they remind of my own
which are stacked up in a box
guess i'll have to dig them out
and then perhaps unlock
unlock some other memories
unlock some more thrills
of when i was a youngster
and still running up that hill
--
same scenes - different people
same churches - different steeples

back to visit these memorable pictures.
excellent
That old photo is of my great grandfather, Rev. Orin Lynch, in Smith County TN, with his 2nd wife, Martha McKinney Lynch (she was the sister of his first wife, Nancy Jane McKinney Lynch who died, and maybe I was named after her?)
Old photos bring back happy memories
Makes me want to dig out my old pictures, too! rcj

I enjoy looking at old photos. pv love...
Isn't it funny how we look at old photos and see someone that looks like ourselves from a different time. Nice song/poem.
