Sample Some Fine Mexican Restaurants in Boston

If you are looking for a cheap and easy way to go out for dinner and still have a decent meal, then Mexican food usually is a good bet. Burritos, fajitas, margaritas, and plenty of other options are available for those who want to go a little spicy and no break the bank at the same time. Mexican food can range from dollar tacos to ten-dollar tequila shots, and there is no better place to get this range than in the heart of Boston. Boston has plenty of places to choose from and will fit pretty much any budget.

One of the more unique Mexican places in town is Fajitas and Ritas, located on West St. and also in the historic Quincy Market. Also featuring a nice bar, F&R's is a great place to meet for some of the best Tex-Mex around and have a few good margaritas as well. They offer the traditional fare like quesadillas and fajitas, as well as a great pulled pork sandwiches. Prices are very reasonable, but be ready to pay a little bit more if you head there for dinner. Prices for lunch are cheaper. Try their chili or their tequila wings, both standards for any frequent visitor of F&R's. They have a nice beer list, or try one of their 5 different types of margaritas, perfectly prepared for a hot summer day. Fajitas and Ritas was just voted best margarita by AOL's Boston City Guide.

A little more upscale dining experience is the Cactus Club on Boylston St. Catering to the Gen X'ers a little more than some places, the Cactus Club is fast becoming a hip and trendy place to be seen munching on nachos or sampling some of their fantastic coconut shrimp. They have a cool feature where you can create your own fajitas. Just tell them what you want and they bring out all the ingredients on a piping hot skillet and let you get hands on. They have some delicious entrees, including a Calypso Stuffed Chicken that is stuffed with onions, mushrooms, and spinach. A definite must for anyone interested in trying a different type of chicken dish. Their margarita menu is extensive and has a different type for each individual taste.

Casa Romero is located deep in the heart of the Back Bay, and has become a fixture for good Mexican food for its 32-year existence. Owner Leo Romero has decorated the restaurant with the traditional Mexican décor and it makes for an authentic feel. Casa Romero has more of a restaurant feel than most Tex-Mex places, but its menu is definitely second to none. Try the filet with a touch of chipotle spices, or the broiled shrimp stuffed with seafood over a huitlacoche sauce. Chef Romero infuses great traditional flavors with his own unique style and you should try your hands at the nice wine list that has a bottle for every type of dish on the menu. The prices are a little more than average for Mexican food, but they are definitely worth it.

Boston has all sorts of dining options, but make sure you try the Mexican way. There are some amazing places that will be sure to satisfy your spicy and Latin fix.
