Samsung DualView ST600 and ST100 Digital Camera Review

New Features for the Samsung DualView Lover

Robert Cooper
When Samsung came out with their DualView line of digital cameras like the TL220 at such a reasonable price I never thought they could come up with something better. Well if more functions and ease of use are better than Samsung has come up with something better in the new Samsung DualView ST100 and ST600.

To be released in September, the new Samsung DualView ST100 and ST600 boast a whopping 14.2 megapixels. Samsung's DualView became ever so popular with its front panel viewing screen so the photographer could be in the image and see what the shot would render. To simplify this even more the new Samsung DualView ST100 and ST600 front screen is tap-activated. The size of the front screen has also been increased to 1.8 inches. The added features continue with:

• A new picture setting which captures couples when it detects the two people tilting toward each other striking a pose

• A children's setting to help get your child subject in the photo mood by offering automation which include sound to bring on their smiles

• A timer so you can set the snap and know how many seconds till you have to say 'cheese'

• And, the craziest of cool, a jump mode. The jump mode takes three consecutive shots virtually freezing action in mid-air

Additionally, the two new DualView's have some unique features on their own. The DualView ST600 has a telescoping 27mm wide-angle lens along with a 5x optical zoom. The Samsung DualView ST100 has the claim of being the first DualView to feature an internal 5x optical zoom. New colors also make the scene with purple and pink in the Samsung DualView line-up with a sleek metallic finish.

For those of you that make decisions based on tech specs the Samsung DualView ST600 and ST100 have Schneider Kreuznach optics and video captured in 720p/30fps HD H.264 format.

The new additions to the Samsung DualView line the ST600 and ST100 sell for $330 and $350 respectively.

Samsung has hit a homerun with its DualView line and these two new additions only add to the buzz. The Samsung DualView is a must for any avid photographer.
