Let's start with the touch screen. It is not just a regular touch screen. It has local vibration response. This is a great feature, making it so they phone vibrates directly under your finger when you press the screen. This makes typing on the touch screen much more accurate.
Next there is the full QWERTY keyboard. This is an important feature in a phone you will be messaging on. It includes all the keys necessary, as well as a Symbols button to access the symbols on they keys. This is a great feature, greatly increasing texting speed. There is only one problem with this keyboard. The top row of the keyboard is much too close to the screen of the phone. It makes it difficult you use the keyboard in the top row.
Next let's move on to the extensive memory. The phone comes with a built in 150 MB of memory. This doesn't seem like much compared to the iPhone's 8 GB (8,000 MB), but it is definitely enough memory. You can hold tons of ringtones, lots of songs, and, on the lowest resolution, many of thousands of pictures. This is important, because the Impression has a 3.0 megapixel camera, which is nicer than most phones, including the iPhone.
Now we have to move on the cons of this phone. There are not many, but the ones that are there are extremely important. On the Impression, there is an Inbox for incoming text messages. This is not the best way messaging is done. On newer phones, there is a chat log (see picture). This makes keeping track of the conversation much easier. This also makes it easier to send and receive messages.
The next con is the locking problem with this phone. This only applies to you if you are right handed, but if you are, you will get very annoyed with this. To lock and unlock the phone, there is a button on the right side. You press it to unlock the phone. The problem with this it that if you have medium or small sized fingers, you are unable to press the button because the phone slides out and pushes your finger. This is not a major issue. The other locking problem, that can also be easily fixed, is that the phone locks too quickly by default. The phone's touchscreen will lock after 10 seconds. The setting to change this is actually very difficult to find.
Overall, this is a fantastic phone. I suggest getting it for anyone who messages, as well as anyone who likes touchscreen phone. I would rate it an 8 out of a perfect 10. This phone costs about 300 dollars.
