The picture on the Samsung Syncmaster 740n is the rave of nearly every review including those with failures. The picture is sharp and clear and the colors are brilliant. The software that comes with the Samsung 740N automatically adjusts the brightness according to your use. One brightness for surfing the Internet, another for watching movies. This has also been one of the bonus features many mention, however one review said the software does not work with older systems and you need to check to see if your video card supports this product.
The Samsung Syncmaster 740N does not come with a DVI connector and with the improvements in the circuitry, the newer LCD monitors are not as dependent on the DVI connector as the older monitors were and now the analog output is nearly as clear and responsive as the DVI connectors were designed to be.
Cons: Very few cons on this monitor, mostly revolving around a not very sturdy stand or lack of flexibility in monitor positioning. Very few people claim a dead or stuck pixel.
All in all, the monitor gets very high ratings, with over 250 reviews read the consumer rating is overall above a 4.75 out of 5 starts, with many people using this monitor for well over a year with no problems at all. Just a beautiful monitor. Samsung has typically had a reputation for being one of the highest quality monitors on the market, I just question the issues some have had with this monitor. By the same token, with so many reviews to read, certainly there will be lemons.

If you like Samsung, you will probably like this monitor, but I would want to test the power lines in my area to insure a stable voltage. According to the Samsung Syncmaster 740N reviews I've read, it seems like only some are plagued with problems while others have no issues at all.
