Let me first begin by stating a few things that have really impressed me about my new 55-inch Samsung 3D TV.
The price is the biggest plus here. Samsung came out with an entire line of new 3D TVs right when I started my shopping. The UN55C7000 is part of the 7000 line while the next level up, the 8000 line, was significantly more expensive. This was the main selling point for me and I can still sleep well at night knowing that my TV looks pretty good and does what I need for considerably less than any of the 8000 series TVs.
Another thing that I really found great about this TV, especially as compared to the old-school model it replaced, was the number and variety of ports. I can hook up my computer to it, have my DVD player and Xbox 360 connected at the same time and it also allows me to insert the memory card from my digital camera and check out my newest pictures of the family.
There were, however, a few sacrifices I had to make in quality for the price I paid.
The biggest issue I have is with some of the darker scenes, particularly in horror movies. At night in a dark room it can be quite difficult to see what is going on in darker shots. This is something to be expected from most LED style TVs though, I have heard.
The other issue that I have noticed, again at night or in the dark, is that for some reason there is a bit of light around the edges of the TV. It is nothing major but I believe a small design flaw which may irritate some people and could have probably been easily avoided by Samsung.
All in all I am quite happy with my new TV. Thus far I haven't had the chance to actually utilize the 3D technology but I know it is getting big both in the box office and with certain episodes of TV series' so it is only a matter of time and with my new Samsung UN55C7000 3D LED TV on standby I will be ahead of most when the 3D DVDs and TV shows become more mainstream.
