San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter Hotel: Sheer Magnificence

Mark Garrison
Living in one of the top tourist spots in the United States provided a very interesting opportunity. Some of the best spots in the country are literally all around me. So when the desire to go out for a night on the town, or a little getaway with the wife comes, there is no shortage of options.

One of those options is a weekend stay in a great, full service hotel. And San Antonio has no shortage of hotels ranging from the average to the magnificent. The San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter hotel is definitely one of the latter.

The San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter is 38 stories of pure luxury. It should be no surprise that this fine hotel is rated 4 Diamonds by AAA. The Marriott Rivercenter has 86 suites and 915 guest rooms. Both types are very pleasing to the eyes and beautifully appointed. The suites are definitely the way to go if you can afford it since these rooms offer much more room, better views, and more luxurious amenities.

Located right along the San Antonio Riverwalk, this hotel offers arguably the best view of this popular Texas river of any area hotel. The Marriott Rivercenter should not be confused with it's cousin the San Antonio Marriott Riverwalk hotel which is located right across the street. With Marriott, there are two type of hotels. There are the hotels that are directly owned by Marriott themselves, and then there are the ones that are "Independently Owned and Operated" franchises. The topic of this review, the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter, is owned directly by Marriott. This may not seem like a very important fact, but one stay at each of these hotels and you will quickly see the difference.

Several getaways at this hotel has afforded my wife and I a unique opportunity to judge the hotel. Instead of just coming into town for a few days, we have had the opportunity to experience this hotel over several years and many occasions.

Each room comes with cable and satellite TV and high speed internet access. Luxurious bedding, down comforters, custom duvets, and cotton-rich linens make all the guest rooms inviting and especially comfortable. All rooms are equipped with a spacious work desk and dual line telephones with speakerphone and voicemail. These features and others make this one of the best hotels for the business class traveler as well.

The amazing accommodations available along the Riverwalk and its surroundings provide a multitude of options for your San Antonio stay including everything from shopping to dining and entertainment.

Overall, the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter has to be one of the finest hotels I have ever stayed at. It's luxury, it's people, and it's surroundings make this fine hotel one of, if not the best option for your San Antonio travel or vacation.
