The Brass Rail

The Brass Rail has been known for being San Diego's "first gay bar" in the area, having come onto the scene way back in 1960. If you are in the area, this bar needs to be stopped at. Check out their sunken bar in the Brass Rails main room, along with many other activities to do. Dance the night away to different themes, such as a Mexican night, hip-hop nights, or even Latin music night. #1 Fifth Avenue

#1 Fifth Avenue may not look like much from the front, but inside its really a very elegant place to hang out. there are actually two areas to the bar. The front bar room is more dark and quiet, with a long bar and mirrors. But most people love the patio that is located behind the bar. Sit amongst the plants in comfortable and cozy seats while you have a drink. check out the cartoon mural of people who appear to be moving up a staircase. That staircase happens to only lead up to an area that is only open during Gay Pride Week and CityFest. The bar has a wonderful atmosphere and even more wonderful martinis. Located at 3845 5th avenue, they can also be contacted by calling 619-299-1911.

Numbers

Numbers is known for being a huge bar that seems like you'll never get out of. The first two rooms hold pool tables, dart machines, and the old-style arcade gaming tables, a hit for the 80's generation! Two bars are located in Numbers so drinks and refills are easy to get. Dance to the floor-to-ceiling screen of music videos that play all night. But to really get your party started, head to the back of the club. The dance floor is encased with glowing and glittering lights, and a third bar is easy to get at. Across the street is The Flame, owned by Numbers, and they alternate a boys and girls night on the weekend to avoid being their own competition. Numbers does special events, such as go-go dancers who sidle up to the nightly gender, so you'll never lack in entertainment. To get to Numbers, head out to 3811 Park Blvd, or call them at 619-294-9005.
