San Diego Restaurant Week will be celebrating its fifth year in 2009 (runs from September 13th to the 18th) with over 180 local restaurants across San Diego participating. The prices range from $20 to $40 per person for a three course mean which includes your choice of appetizer, main course and of course dessert. This article offers five restaurants that showcase San Diego's unique casual fare and the freshest ingredients available. It is strongly advised to call the restaurant for reservations to make sure you do not miss out. 1. Albie's Beef Inn. 1201 Hotel Circle South, San Diego, CA. (619) 291-1130. www.albiesbeefinn.com. The price for dinner is $20 per person. Offers casual dining and dinner begins at 5:00 p.m. in pub inspired décor. Their offering is (your choice): appetizer - soup / salad; main course - filet mignon / pork chops / halibut; and dessert - bread pudding / cheesecake / carrot cake.

2. Coronado Boathouse 1887. 1701 Strandway, Coronado, Coronado, CA. (619) 435-0155. www.coronado-boathouse.com. The price for dinner is $30 per person. Offers casual dining just across from the Hotel del Coronado, with dinner starting at 5:00 p.m. Their offering is (your choice): appetizer - clam chowder / salad / calamari; main course - top sirloin / shrimp / halibut; and dessert - cheesecake / key lime pie / mud pie/

3. Indigo Grill. 1536 India Street, San Diego, CA. (619) 234-6802. www.cohnrestaurants.com (you can also make reservations online). The price for dinner is $30 per person. Offers an eclectic outdoor bistro setting to match its equally eclectic menu with dinner starting at 5:00 p.m. Their offering is (your choice): appetizers - ceviche / grilled romaine / tamale; main course - chicken / pork ribs / salmon; and dessert - ice cream / cheesecake / sorbet.

4. Tom Ham's Lighthouse. 2150 Harbor Island Drive, San Diego, CA. (619) 291-9110. www.tomhamslighthouse.com. The price for dinner is $30 per person and dinner starts at 4:30 p.m. Formally known has the Bali Hai Restaurant, it has now become Tom Ham's and boasts that it is the only restaurant with a working lighthouse that is registered at "Beacon #9" on any USCG Nautical Map that is still working today. Further, Tom Ham's offers spectacular views of the downtown skyline. Their offering is (your choice): appetizer - bisque / scallops / salad; main course - crab legs / rib eye / salmon; and dessert - mud pie / cobbler / lava cake.

5. Café Coyote. 2461 San Diego Avenue, San Diego, CA. (619) 291-4695. www.cafecoyoteoldtown.com. The price for dinner is $20 per person with dinner starting at 5:00 p.m. Located within San Diego's historic Old Town, this restaurant offers casual outdoor dining with a Mexican flair, making everything by hand and fresh daily. Their offering is (your choice): appetizer - shrimp cocktail / dip platter / soup / salad; main course - chicken / shrimp / combination platter featuring carne asada; and dessert - flan / chocolate tequila mousse / banana quesadilla.
