San Diego Youth Hostels and How to Visit San Diego Cheaply

Beautiful City, Beautiful Prices

Fewer cities offer the beauty and activities that San Diego, California offers. Beautiful beaches, wonderful parks, great sporting events, and perfect year round weather make San Diego a travel hot spot. San Diego can also be very expensive, so if you need to get there on a budget let us suggest some great San Diego Youth Hostels and other budget saving tips for your trip.

Local San Diego Youth Hostels
Hostels are hybrid versions of college dormitories and hotel rooms. If you are planning on staying in a Youth Hostel make sure you are prepared for the adventure. Hostels often will require travelers to stay in bunk beds with 5-15 other guests, so be ready in case you are forced into a top bunk. When staying in a Youth Hostel make sure that you bring your own sheets and towels. I would highly recommend the following San Diego Youth Hostels.

HI San Diego Down Town. Hostelling International is a national chain of Youth Hostels that offer great amenities for their guests. Amenities include computer work stations, free high speed internet, travel tours of the local San Diego area, and knowledgeable employees who will help you learn all you need to know about the local area. The down town location of this Youth Hostel makes it convenient to airports, mass transit, and other attractions. The HI San Diego offers free pancake breakfasts every morning so you can save your money for other great dining experiences in San Diego. Rates are $30-$40 per night depending on the time of year.

HI San Diego Point Loma. If you are looking for a great San Diego Youth Hostel that is close to the beach try the Point Loma. Amenities are the same as the down town location, and it also offers guests the opportunity to see the local area by foot, or by bicycle. Rates run about $30-$40 per night.

San Diego area Entertainment
World famous parks, zoos, and beaches are just steps away from each other when staying in San Diego. My favorite thing to do while in San Diego on a budget is to just visit the beach and soak in the sun. Inexpensive walking tours available through your local Hostel can provide you with valuable historical information about the surrounding area.

If you want to check out the local theme parks there is a great offer you just have to take advantage of. A Multi-Park pass is offered by the local Theme Parks. Included in the Multi Park pass is the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Disney Land, and Universal Studios. The Multi-Park pass can be purchased here for $219 dollars...a great deal for all these parks.

San Diego Restaurants
San Diego offers guests a plethora of wonderful and unique restaurants. With a little travel savvy and internet research you can eat at many of these restaurants very cheap. Check out destinationcoupons.com, and destination.com for an ever changing list of coupons that many of the local restaurants offer to visitors. While in San Diego check out Cafe Sevilla, you will not be disappointed with its menu of eclectic Spanish and Mexican Dishes.

Hope your travels to San Diego, California bring you as much joy as they have me in the past. Hopefully these suggestions of local San Diego Youth Hostels, entertainment options, and restaurants will make your stay as delightful as mine.
