San Diego's Most Unique Bars and Lounges

Theresa Manalang
With so many new bars, clubs, restaurant bars, and lounges popping up in San Diego's Nightlife Scene, these bars and lounges offer something unique, fresh, and fun!

Beach Bar at the W Hotel- The Beach Bar sits atop of the W Hotel covered with sandy floors bringing the beach to downtown. Sip on drinks and signature cocktails while sitting around a fire pit, or for more VIP treatment, you can rent a cabana. If you really feel like Beach bummin' it, come during the afternoon and stay all night! http://www.thewsandiegohotel.com/Beach

The Beauty Bar - This bar often has live performances and residential DJs, but what really makes this place special is manicures and martinis! Grab a handful of your girlfriends and get your nails done while sipping on their signature martini's! The atmosphere is laid back, nostalgic, and simply cool!

Dussini Loft Bar- Here you can lounge by the fireplace and shoot pool while sipping on their signature cocktails. Happy Hour specials are great- even on a Saturday Night. If billiards is not your thing, you can munch on the delicious tapas while watching tv on of the big screens. http://www.dussini.com/pages/billiards.htm

Syrah Wine Parlor - As soon as you reach the entrance of this venue you know you are in for a wonderland treat! This lounge classifies itself as a wine parlor with a plethora of wine to choose from however offering a full bar as well. On Fridays and Saturdays they have wine tastings, they offer great happy specials, games nights and much more. The decor is what really makes this place unique. Syrah's inspiration is from Alice in Wonderland with greenery, shrubs, over-sized chairs, and eye-catching art. The bottle service is definitely reasonable and the service is excellent. http://syrahwineparlor.com/

Anthology- For a more sophisticated feel, Anthology caters to a crowd that appreciates quality drinks and ear candy. Most days you can enjoy drinks and great food while listening to the live bands ranging from Jazz to Celtic. Check out their calendar of events to see who will take the stage next.

Churchill Cigar Lounge not only offers a great selection of Cigars, but also a vast selection of beers and wine which you can enjoy on their outdoor patio which is a favorite of the patrons!

Basic- This is the ultimate "chill" bar in Downtown. With Petco right across the street the dress code is non-existent. Here you will find a diverse crowd, pool table, and a small area for bottle service. What sets this place apart from the other is the delicious pizza!! As if serving pizza to the nightlife crowd wasn't unique enough they offer special toppings like mashed potato, meatball, fresh clam, fried eggplant, and more!

East Village Tavern- This bowling alley is a great place to enjoy drinks, bowl, eat, and catch the Big Game on a widescreen. Not your average bowling alley as it boats a modern feel with music blaring and several tv monitors.
