San Francisco is my favorite place to visit. There are literally hundreds of tourist attractions in San Francisco for people all over the world to enjoy. My three favorite places to visit in San Francisco are: the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf and Chinatown.
I recently visited the Golden Gate Bridge with my family and without a doubt; it is one of the most beautiful bridges in the world. According to a survey completed by the San Francisco Convention and Visitor Bureau, an estimated nine million people from around the world visit the Golden Gate Bridge each year. My favorite activity at Golden Gate Bridge is to walk along the 1.7 mile suspension bridge and take pictures of the towers and cables from different angles. It has breathtaking views. We also had the opportunity to drive acroos this historical bridge and see wonderful views of San Francisco.
Fisherman's Wharf is another popular place in San Francisco. It's main attraction is Pier 39 where people can shop all day, browsing amongst 2 levels of unique stores, and trying one of a multitude of seafood restaurants where diners can enjoy their fresh seafood with an amazing view of the sun setting on the Bay. People enjoy watching the sea lions bask in the sun and bark non-stop all day and into the night. My favorite activity at Fisherman's Wharf is to watch one of several street performance artists who sing and do break-dance routines like Michael Jackson.
Chinatown is my third favorite place to visit in San Francisco. My children love Golden Gate Cookie Factory where they are excited to see fresh fortune cookies coming out of the oven. The look of joy on their faces as they are eating them warm is priceless. The streets are filled with authentic Chinese food markets as well as stores with inexpensive decorated items that are a souvenir hunter's paradise. People can easily and eagerly get lost in the streets for hours, walking along the side streets and winding back alleys which hold surprises around every corner, whether it be a curio shop or 3 table café.
These are my top three favorite places in San Francisco; however, there are several other historical places that people from all over the world frequently visit and enjoy year round. These include: Golden Gate Park, Lombard Street, the Mission District, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Alcatraz and Angel Island. I love San Francisco. The saying "I left my heart in San Francisco" rings true for me, because I keep returning time and again.
