San Jose Shark's Devin Setoguchi and His Hockey Career

BS
Devin Setoguchi, a right wing for the San Jose Sharks, sounds like he'd be from somewhere very far away from America, but he's actually Canadian. Devin Setoguchi was born in Taber, Alberta on January 1, 1987 making him 22 years old. Though not very old, Setoguchi is a great hockey player and very well known among Shark fans. Devin Setoguchi weighs 205 pounds and is 6 feet tall and has had a very interesting hockey career. The first notable team that Setoguchi played on was the Crowsnet Pass Timberwolves in the 2002-2003 hockey season, an AJHL (Alberta Junior Hockey League) team. The AJHL is a league of junior hockey players that belongs to the CJHL (Canadian Junior Hockey League).

After playing for the Crowsnet Pass Timberwolves, Devin Setoguchi moved on to the Saskatoon Blades. The Saskatoon Blades are a team that is part of the WHL (Western Hockey League), which is one of the three leagues that makes up the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). The CHL is the most competitive level of junior hockey in Canada. Setoguchi played for the Saskatoon Blades from 2003 to 2006. For the 2006-2007 season, he moved on to another WHL team, the Prince George Cougars.

After playing in the WHL from 2003 to 2007, Devin Setoguchi was supposed to begin the 2007-2008 season with the San Jose Sharks, but unfortunately for him, he was injured. Because of his injury, he was placed on the injured reserve, which is a list of reserved players that cannot play due to injury and exists so that another player can be put on the roster while that player is injured. Devin Setoguchi then spent the 2007-2008 hockey season with the Worcester Sharks, an AHL (American Hockey League) team affiliated with the San Jose Sharks.

The 2008-2009 season was the season that Devin Setoguchi finally got his chance in the NHL (National Hockey League). He played with the San Jose Sharks and scored his first goal two goals in a game against the Dallas Stars, which also happened to be his first ever NHL game, making him the first of the San Jose rookies to ever score two goals in his first NHL game. In December of 2008, Devin Setoguchi was sent back to the Worcester Sharks, but called back up to the San Jose Sharks less than a month after. He was sent back down again on January 25, 2008 during the All Star break and was then called back up three days later on January 28, 2008.
