San Marcos in Toledo Ohio Best Mexican Food in the State

Toledo is limited compared to other cities in its number of ethnic foods. In fact the entire state does not have a large number of ethnic foods. The main reason is that Ohio is not very ethnically diverse compared to places like New York or California. Even Michigan has more diversity. So it is nice to be able to get a good ethnic meal every now and then in Toledo. One of the most popular ethnic foods is Mexican food. One of the best Mexican food places in all of Toledo and Ohio even is San Marcos.

San Marcos can be found at 235 Broadway Street, Toledo, Ohio. San Marcos has easily the best Mexican food in all of the city. San Marcos is not only great Mexican food but it is also inexpensive as well. Some good Mexican food places will charge you more but not San Marcos.

San Marcos is famous for its tacos. San Marcos has lots of kinds of tacos many of which you probably have never tired and may not be inclined to try such as the tripe and tongue. The barbacoa is a popular taco you might want to get that you may have not heard of but it is not as unusual as tongue or tripe.

Tacos may be the most popular food item here but they are not the only Mexican food choice. Other popular menu items include the chicken and carne asada as well as the corn tortillas. San Marcos offers authentic Mexican food. Having grown up in Southern California though I am used to the very best Mexican food in the world. So while San Marcos is the best Mexican food in the area it is not on par with the best Mexican food in the border states. However unless you go to one of the border states you will have a hard time finding better Mexican food anywhere else especially in Ohio.

Besides just good Mexican food San Marcos also has many unique Mexican drinks as well. You will not find these drinks at a Taco Bell. So you should at least try some. Most are very sweet and tend to be fruit flavored drinks.

I would recommend San Marcos to others who want good Mexican food in the Toledo area. I would not say that it is the best Mexican food I have ever had though. In fact it does not even make the top 10. You can get a great meal here for only about $5 though and that is not bad.
