kids running,
throwing their back packs down -
outcomes swim suits,
sand buckets, beach sand,
and sunscreen.
Red noses, freckles
and aloe...lots of aloe.
Burgers and fries, and the
crunch of sand between your
teeth, salty chips, sandcastles
and seashells...
Hundreds upon hundreds of
seashells,
shells found for daddy, found for mommy,
found for grammy,found
because its purple, found
because it's cool - found for a project
found in the dryer
and then into cool clean sheets
and hot breezes rustle the curtains,
hard to think it will be
cold again.
