The SanDisk e280 includes a unique Sansa Media Converter, conveniently making all picture and video formats compatible with the device. Unlike the iPod Nano, the SanDisk e280 offers features which can be used to add additional storage to the device. The SanDisk e280 supports SanDisk TrustedFlash enabled cards and Gruvi content cards, and features a microSD™ expansion slot, to provide even more capacity.
The iPod is famous for its simple design and ease of use. The SanDisk e280 is just as easy to use, offering simple backlit controls for fast and straightforward use. The SanDisk e280 also features a digital FM tuner, FM recording and voice recording. These features are only available on the iPod Nano if you purchase extra accessories. The SanDisk e280 also supports subscription music stores.
While the iPod Nano is available in a variety of colors, the SanDisk e280 is available only in black. However, given all of its other features, this is a small drawback to purchasing the device.
The SanDisk e280 offers greater storage capabilities than the iPod Nano, with additional features, for less money. While the 8GB iPod Nano retails for $199.99, the SanDisk e280 retails for just $149.99. The SanDisk e280 is available at retails stores including Best Buy, Circuit City and CostCo. It can also be purchased online at www.sandisk.com for $149.99 or at buy.com for just $134.97.
