Sandra Bullock Files for Divorce - Jesse James Speaks Out

Magnolia Miller
Jesse James has released a statement in response to the news that his wife, the equally heart-broken, Sandra Bullock, has filed for divorce. Jesse said in his statement that "The decision to let my wife end our marriage, and continue the adoption of Louis on her own, has been the hardest. The love I have for Louis cannot be put to words. Not having him around to love and to hold has left a huge hole in my heart."

I'm not so sure that Jesse James is going to be able to garner much public support or sympathy at this point. In one fell swoop, he has annihilated what appeared to be one very happy and stable marriage. All for a little sexual gratification with one very tattooed-up broad. I, for one, will never understand it.

Jesse went on to say in his statement that "Sandy is the love of my life, but considering the pain and devastation I have caused her, it would be selfish to not let her go."

Erm, okay, Jesse. But it begs the question, dude....."Shouldn't you have thought about this before you decided to do a little mattress dancing with Michelle-what-the-hell-bombshell?"

Of course, we all know that any more arm-chair quarter-backing is really meaningless at this point. What is done is done and boy is it. Jesse James has been slapped right back to the day he was born, as we say in the Deep South. Though he has clearly deserved it, I will be the first to go on record to say that I actually feel bad for the guy. I probably shouldn't, but the mommy in me sees the bigger picture and the far reaching consequences of all that is happening at the moment.

It's not just Sandy's heart that is broken. But, it's the children that they have parented together as well. Divorce is brutal and I think that we highly underestimate the damage that it causes, which so often does not even rear its ugly head until many years later.

I sincerely hope that Jesse James will follow through and do as he says he's going to do and "beat the addiction that has taken two of the things I love the most in life. But, I guess only time will tell if Jesse James will man-up in a way that is not about muscles, fast cars, infidelity or tattoos. You can find the full text of Jesse James' statement here

I will confess. I do not now, nor will I ever understand the mind of men. I realize they couldn't cheat if there weren't women willing to cheat with them or make it available to them. But, it does seem that the larger percentage of the cheaters in relationships are men. I just don't get it. I never have and never will.

Couldn't agree more Magnolia! And you're absolutely right, it is very sad to see how something like this has such a painful impact on the children involved.
