Sanford-Brown College - Collinsville Hosts Illinois Congressman John Shimkus to New Medical Laboratory Technician and Career Services Wing
Sanford-Brown College - Collinsville (SBC) welcomes Congressman John Shimkus (R-IL) in July at their campus, where he met with students, faculty and staff. Representative Shimkus also toured the campus' new Medical Laboratory Technician wing. Sanford-Brown College - Collinsville is one of the first schools in the area to construct a new lab and begin offering this program. The Medical Laboratory Technician program is designed to prepare students for a career in health care.
Representative Shimkus also met the campus leadership team and learned about the student population and the ongoing career services offered to students at Sanford-Brown College - Collinsville. Sanford-Brown's Career Services office provides students with tools to help students gain and retain critical information without being solely dependent on patient cases during their clinical experience. It also coordinates service learning opportunities for students to use skills learned in the classroom.
