Sanorex (mazindol) works by elevating your blood pressure and heart rate. It works as a stimulant that both increases your metabolism and suppresses your appetite. When taken before meals, it can help you limit your eating by making you feel full faster. However, like most prescription drugs, there are a number of side effects. One of these side effects is dry mouth (also sometimes called cotton mouth). The clinical name for dry mouth is Xerostomia.
Xerostomia may not seem like the worst of side effects (and it's not). Dry mouth seems like a small price to pay when other side effects of Sanorex (mazindol), according to Drugs.com, include dizziness, blurred vision, anxiety and fatigue. Additionally, Sanorex (mazindol) can be habit forming. This is why it should be taken under a doctor's care. The side effects of Xerostomia seem like small potatoes and a reasonable price to pay for help with weight loss. However, cotton mouth has its own unpleasant effects and can make things difficult for those around you as well.
Bad breath and Xerostomia
According to Dr. Harold Katz, one of the main causes of bad breath is Xerostomia. Dry mouth or cotton mouth can result in halitosis, which is the clinical name for bad breath. This is bad breath that is hard to do away with. When you have dry mouth as a result of using Sanorex (mazindol), you run the risk of having bad breath that cannot be disguised by mouthwash or other external means. And this type of bad breath can lead to relationship problems as people no longer want to be close to you.
When you are considering various treatments for different ailments, it is important to consider side effects. And with Xerostomia, it is important to realize that there are consequences that you might not have thought about in terms of the difficulties caused by dry mouth. Before using Sanorex (mazindol) consider your options and whether the side effects are worth it.
