Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar in Waikiki, Hawaii: Restaurant Review

Jack Oceano
At the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa, you will find some of the best Japanese-based Pacific Rim cuisine on the island. The restaurant is called the Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar, and it is run by none other than D. K. Kodama. Here is a restaurant review of Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar in Waikiki, Hawaii.

Located at 2552 Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki, the Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar shares space with the DK Steakhouse at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa. The two restaurants do not share a menu, but if you seat yourself at the bar, you can order from either. The Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar menu offers everything from early bird dinner items to late night appetizers and sushi dishes, and the restaurant serves some of the freshest, tastiest seafood and sushi in Hawaii.

The Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar offers magnificent presentation and an elegant setting, as well as top notch service. Dinner is served nightly from five-thirty to ten p.m., and you can stick around on Friday and Saturday night until one o'clock a.m., enjoying karaoke.

Some of the Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar's award-winning dishes include: Asian Shrimp Cake, Shrimp Dynamite, Japanese Calamari Salad, and their outstanding Mango Crab Salad Roll. They also offer fabulous starters, soups and salads, and delicious entrees, including Roasted Japanese Jerk Chicken, Grilled Pork Chops, Shichimi Filet of Beef with Noodles, Cracked Peppercorn Grilled New York Steak, Seafood Pasta, and Lobster Tail with Spicy Crab Cake.

Prices at the Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar are quite reasonable. Entrees range from $16 and up. They offer a wonderful bar menu, including a wide selection of wine and sake, and tropical drinks. Try their Kodama Bahama, Lava Flow, Mai Tai, Mojito, or The Relaxer. Or better yet, order an Hawaiian Sunset Martini.

The Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar has received numerous awards and accolades from various publications, including Travel + Leisure, Honolulu Magazine, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, the Maui News, the Honolulu Advertiser, Zagat, and many more.

Their Waikiki location offers validated self-parking and valet parking via their Ohua street entrance. For more information on the restaurant and to make reservations, you can call them at 808-931-6286. The Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar also has locations on the island of Maui and the Big Island. Reservations are always highly recommended and sometimes essential, especially during the high season. Aloha, and enjoy your dining experience at the Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar.

I agree with Pam. Great review and, as always, thanks for reminding me that I'm in PA right now and not Hawaii where I should be!
