Santa Christmas Crafts for the Holidays

Cherie Bowser
Christmas is a fun time of the year to create different types of Santa Christmas crafts for the holidays by yourself or with your family. Santa Claus is very popular this time of year and there are many Santa Claus Christmas crafts that you can make. Here are some of my favorites Santa Claus Christmas crafts for the holidays.

Santa Christmas Crafts for the Holidays: Santa Foam Picture Frame Ornament

Santa Foam picture frame ornaments are very easy Santa craft and fun to make as well as giving them as a gift. The first item that you will need is foam frames. The Making Friends website has some green and red photo foam frames at ½ off right now for a six pack of foam frames for $1.99 or you can go to your local supply craft store to purchase the foam picture frames for your Santa craft. The frames on MakingFriends.com for your photo frame Santa craft are 5" x 7" frames that have a cut out of 2mm foam in the center for your photo. The oval opening for your photo is 4-5/8" x 3-2/8". First, you will want to take a single hole puncher and punch out a small round hole in the middle of the top of the photo foam frame. The next step in making your Santa foam craft is to glue your photo to the back of the photo with your picture showing through the front. Use tacky glue to adhere your photo to the back of the foam frame. After you have place your photo on the back of the photo foam frame, peel and stick your Santa foam stickers to the front of the foam frame. Take a piece of red ribbon and pull it through the hole you made at the top center of the photo foam frame and tie a knot so you can hang it on the Christmas tree.

Santa Christmas Crafts for the Holidays: Santa Claus Advent Calendar

This is a great craft that you can make with your child to keep at home or to give to grandma and grandpa as a gift. The First-School preschool activities and crafts website has a great Santa Claus advent calendar that you can make with your children. You will need a printer, paper, colored markers, pencils, crayons, or paints, scissors, glue, and cotton balls. Print both templates shown below and color or paint the hat, beard, eyes, nose, etc. You can have your entire family help you to create a family Santa Claus advent calendar. After, you have colored your pieces; you will next cut them out. After you have cut the pieces out, you will glue the hat to the round face and then add the beard with the calendar numbers 1 - 25. After you do this, add your hat, eyes, nose, and all the other pieces to create your Santa Claus face. On December 1st, take a cotton ball and glue it to the number 1. On December 2nd, glue the cotton ball to number 2. Keep repeating these steps until December 25th and you will slowly be creating a beard for Santa all the way up to Christmas Day. Here are the two templates you will need to print out:
