The Design
The Sanyo Xacti HD700 only weighs 189 grams and has a volume of 171 cc. The Xacti DMX-HD700 will come in three colors, red, silver and brown and features a compact body and ergonomic design that allows the lens of the camera to be level with the ground when using a tripod. The Xacti HD700 has curved edges that will allow the camcorder to fit in your pocket or purse.
Specifications, features, and benefits
The Sanyo Xacti DMX-HD700 can shoot still images at 7.1 mega pixels and capture high definition videos at 4.08 mega pixels or normal videos at 3.58 mega pixels. Sanyo's Xacti HD700 saves your pictures in JPEG format and your videos using ISO standard MPEG 4 AVC/H.264 format, you can save your pictures unto an SD Memory Card which is the recording media for the Xacti HD700. The Xacti HD700 has a 5x optical zoom and 12x digital zoom, bringing the Xacti HD700's total zoom capacity to 60x so you can be sure that every detail of your precious video is captured even from afar. The Xacti HD700's lens can provide a 38-190 mm range field of view. The new MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format can deliver high quality videos without taking up too much space on your SD memory card.
The Xacti HD700 also sports a 2.7 inch LCD display that can flip out of the camera and rotate 285 degrees, allowing you to capture videos from difficult angles, ensuring that you never miss a moment. The Xacti HD700 also has a "face chaser" feature similar to face detection feature in other digital cameras that allows you to detect and isolate faces so you can assist the camera's exposure and auto focus. Other features of the Sanyo Xacti HD700 includes: HDMI output, Digital image stabilization, can playback videos directly on HD or standard TV, and Exif Print and Print Image Matching III and PictBridge compatible. Sanyo's Xacti HD700 also incorporates the company's proprietary H.264 engine that allows the camera to run only on 4 watts of power.

The Sanyo Xacti HD700 will be available at the end of October 2007 with an estimated retail price of $599.99.
