Sara Evans Engaged to Former College Football Star Jay Barker

Sara Evans is one of country music's premier stars. Many fans are in love with her songs. Sara Evans has had top ten country singles and platinum albums. Everybody remembers Sara Evans as one of the contestants on ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" show. Everybody remembers the controversy surrounding her departure. Everybody now knows that she was going through a bitter divorce at the time. Sara Evans married her ex-husband, Craig Schelske, in 1993. They were divorced in 2007. She has three children from that relationship.

In the middle of 2007, Sara started dating former college football star Jay Barker. He is an alumni of the University of Alabama. He led his 1992 team to a National Championship. He is also recently divorced from his wife, Amy Barker. It was announced on March 24 that Sara Evans and Jay Barker were engaged to be married.

It seems that the music business and sports have always mixed well. Big names on top of big names have found love singing to them through the TV screen. Mariah Carey dated New Yankees' star shortstop Derek Jeter from 1997 to 1998. The relationship was the talk of the own of New York. Whenever the couple were seen, the paparazzi would be there. The great amount of media presence was cited as the reason for the break-up between them. The couple could never get a moment alone with being stalked by reporters. Mariah has gone on to be romantically linked with a list of stars but nothing set New york ablaze like Mariah and Mr. Derek Jeter.

Sheryl Crow once dated world renown cyclist Lance Armstrong from 2003 to about 2006. They even made it up to being engaged. They were all set to get married and then they broke up in February of 2006. They were a power couple. Lance had dealt with his cancer and she had been diagnosed with cancer as well. They were both very involved with activism and reaching out to people. They were definitely a great singer/ athlete couple.

Jessica Simpson was married to her husband Nick Lachey for three years before they split. It was a very public divorce. As of last year, the singer has been in a romantic relationship with Dallas Cowboy's quarterback Tony Romo. They celebrated Thanksgiving together with her family. The media though has beat up on this couple a little citing his poor performance on the field to her being too much of a distraction. Some of the Dallas fans even call her Yoko Romo as a jab as Yoko Ono broke up the Beatles while dating John Lennon.

High profile two star relationships are very hard to maintain. You will always have people who scrutinize your relationship. You will always have people expecting you to fail. They will call all of your judgments into play. It is best that the stars maintain their stance on love, not live their life for the media because the media is a machine and has no feeling. I hope that Sara and Jay make it. The odds are fifty/ fifty.
