Fat & Calories of the Sara Lee Deluxe Everything Bagel
Years ago when I started a low fat diet, bagels were one item I added to my food group. They are low in calories and low in fat content, with zero cholesterol. They are filling and seemed to satisfy my hunger.
Sara Lee Deluxe Everything Bagel - Not a popular Southern food
Now, bagels are not necessarily known as a southern food, nor as popular as New York Bagels in the northeast, but Sara Lee is a well known brand in the south. (Pronounced Sa' (long a) rah Lee.) When I started searching for the bagel I liked, and I tried several different brands, I quickly found I did not like the "flavored" varieties of bagels and the Sara Lee Plain bagel was my preference. After a few years, the Sara Lee Everything Bagel was available. I fell in love with it. What made it so appealing to me is the abundance of seeds and the new Sara Lee Deluxe Everything Bagel, recently introduced to the market, even has more seeds. The toasted seeds give it the delicious flavor.

Company history
When Charlie Lubin decided to name his new line of cheesecake after his daughter, Sara Lee, she was eight years old. His company was purchased by Consolidated Foods in 1956 and in 1985 the name was officially changed to Sara Lee Corporation. Although Sara Lee has never had a management role at the company, she has appeared in some television ads for the bakery products. Her father told her the products had to be perfect since he was naming them after her. Today Sara Lee is a philanthropist who spends her time in support of women and girls in science.
The Sara Lee Corporation is also responsible for other top brands such as Ambi Pur, Ball Park, Douwe Egberts, Hillshire Farms, Jimmy Dean, Kiwi, Sanex and Senseo. One of the things I noted was the Corporation has had 249 consecutive quarterly dividends to its stockholders. The stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange (SLE) at about $14.00 per share.
Try the new Sara Lee Deluxe Everything Bagel with butter and/or low-fat cream cheese and I believe you will agree with me that it is one of the better tasting bagels available. Nobody does it like Sara Lee!
