Sarah Jessica Parker Still Fabulous, Minus One Trademark Mole

Lyza Ramona Rodriguez
I have been a fan of Sarah Jessica Parker and her trademark mole for many years. Even before her role as "Carrie Bradshaw" on the most awesome of awesome shows, "Sex and the City." I always loved that she was just like me and my friends. A regular gal that made good, you know? Hers is a beauty that wasn't unattainable, mainly because it was her simply accentuating what and who she already was. Plain and simple and fabulous, SJP, her mole, hand in hand, made being yourself and being happy with it, OK. More than OK actually; she made being and loving yourself actually a little sexy.

Now the mole has gone away, and I am just this side of sad. Yeah, in the grand scheme of the state of the world, it isn't that huge a deal, this I know. However, what does this tell the "Every Girl"? That you should fix whatever doesn't fit in with Hollywood's ridiculous and impossible standard of beauty? I mean, yeah, it's possible that it there is a medical reason behind the mole removal. Though, if that's the case, why not make a statement? And no, she does not have to make a statement to the press for every move she makes, but when you are a celebrity, you have fans that want to know things. Just easier to make a statement than to have everyone wondering, of course, that's just my humble opinion.

But wait! That just might be the desired affect, say nothing so that every one else will, viral marketing at it's best. Or maybe I'm just jaded.

Of course, this changes nothing, I still love her, her and her short un-manicured nails and great fashion sense. I also admire that someone considered such a huge fashion icon decided to use her powers for good, per se. Instead of starting her own fashion line for Henri Bendel's or even Macy's, she remembered the little people and we thank her.

Her Line, "Bitten" by Sarah Jessica Parker, can be found at Steve & Barry's, and all of her pieces retail for under $12, even as low as $8.98.

She is a great actress, and for many will live on forever in their hearts as "Carrie Bradshaw" with her trademark mole and all, this will never change.

My fervent hope now, is that Sarah Jessica is done "fixing" herself, please don't succumb to rhinoplasty Ms. Parker, leave the nose alone, we loved you just the way you were.
