Sarah Palin Abandons Alaska Citizens, Resigns as Governor Effective July 25, 2009

In a hastily called news conference that reminded this citizen of the press conference of another governor,
that is SC Mark Sanford (R) conference, Alaska governor Sarah Palin will resign as governor effective July 25,2009. The Lieutenant Governor will assume the governorship on that day.

Historically, there is a pattern within the executive offices of both the state and federal level to release negative
news during a low news cycle such as this holiday weekend. The typical purpose for release news on a holiday
weekend is because the public is not paying attention.

Many political experts are puzzled over both the timing and the performance of the Governors press conference. The Republican party is stunned by this announcement. Governor Palin only informed the Lieutenant Governor on this Wednesday. National Republican leaders were not informed.

This resignation will certainly enhance the governors reputation as a loose cannon. 2009 has not been kind to
Governor Palin. There is the matter of the 15 ethics investigations into her travels and travel expense claims.
The governor is publicly feuding with the father of her daughters child Levi Johnston. According to the father
Levi has not seen his child since the failed vice presidential bid. There is the very public feud with comedian
late night host David Letterman. If you recall David Letterman made a tasteless joke about her daughter having
a tryst with a NY Yankee baseball player.

While it is natural to defend one's family both publicly and privately, the Palin family has a tendency to go overboard and be vindictive to those who cross their path. Trooper gate was an example of that.

The controversial governor has the support of the conservative base of the Republican party. She will be receiving huge speaker fees for her fund raising capabilities. As a reminder Governor Palin has signed a book deal that will be a tell all story. The publisher of her book will be Harper Collins. Harper Collins is owned by Rupert Murdoch who also owns the Fox news channel. During the 2008 election Fox news channel strongly back Sarah Palin. You can bet she will be a contributor as a conservative commentator on Fox news in the near
future.

There is no doubt that the rambling, non-focused Friday afternoon news conference will raise the publicity
"Buzz" surrounding the Governors up coming book. Speculation is rampant and the following questions are just a view that will need to be addressed. Did Sarah Palin abandon the citizens of Alaska due to her inability
to handle the negative publicity and the frustrations of being in charge of Alaska? Did she abandon the citizens
of Alaska for the freedom of being on the national circuit of fund raising and book tours? Is there a scandal
in the background waiting to happen?

Harry Truman was said, "If you can not stand the heat in the kitchen get out" The stew is boiling over in the
political world of Sarah Palin. Her kitchen has smoke bellowing out of the windows. The nail has driven into her
coffin. Only her most loyal supporters thinks that she has a political future at the presidential level. This woman
was a heart beat away from the presidency.
