Palin was referring to an answer Barack Obama gave at a August 2007 town hall meeting with New Hampshire voters, during which the Illinois senator was asked whether he had plans to shift U.S. troops out of Iraq to other terrorist hotspots like Afghanistan.
"We've got to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops so that we're not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure over there," Obama said of the U.S.'s mission in Afghanistan.
Those comments were immediately seized by GOP critics. The Republican National Committee sent out a press release shortly after calling them "offensive," and demanding he apologize. The McCain campaign has also highlighted the comments several times this campaign season. An AP Fact Check later reported Western forces had been killing civilians at a higher rate than insurgents.

Ok, so Sarah Palin is going to disqualify Obama based on a lie that could have been fact checked BEFORE she said it. Yet she once again is pulling out her gun and shooting before she can see her target clearly. Is she going to "admit" she was dead wrong on that and retract the statement of Obama being "reckless" and then disqualifying him for the office of President? I doubt it.
Of course, she was talking to FOX NEWS. You know "fair and balanced"! I am not sure what kind of scale they use to determine that. Because they have Alan Combs on there? Sean Hannity runs over that guy like a bulldozer, I am sad to say. Then you add the always laughable Ann Coulter and you have a Full House of Republican dominated theater. She has become so comfortable with Fox News that she will say anything to them. They have become very good friends there with her. Her interview with Sean Hannity is almost laughable.
I watched a lot of the interview but have read the transcripts as well. I read the transcripts first so I wouldn't be biased based on looks. Even though watching her and listening to her voice is like the nails on the chalkboard situation. It really is irritating.
However, reading the transcripts of that made me just as nauseous. You could hear the slobber dripping from Sean Hannity's mouth in the transcripts. When I watched the video, I could only laugh at the spectacle he has made of himself. He is either so Republican to the core that it would matter if Hitler were running, as long as it was Republican tagged.
When this election is over with, Sean Hannity should retire and reflect on his blatant disregard for the American Public. He will lie, cheat and steal just like John McCain and Sarah Palin to be in the spotlight and have his point of view heard.
The interview with Palin was borderline asinine and made Hannity look like a school boy with a crush on a teacher. How unprofessional!
She was so confident with Fox News' Carl Cameron, she had the audacity to tell Katie Couric how to be a better journalist and say she was annoyed with her questions. This is the same person who couldn't name any magazines or newspapers she read until "after" her Arizona educational trip. She couldn't name even one Supreme Court decision she disagreed with until after they gave her time to look something up.
She was annoyed because she couldn't answer the questions. Similar to the way she was annoyed with being asked questions from moderator Gwen Ifill in the debate. Whatever question that was ask, she would change it to something she had rather answer. Then she would give us a speech on their ability to run this country. I am thinking this is becoming "Classic" Sarah Palin. It appears to be her M.O. on every single interview or difficult appearance, except with Fox News.
Is she annoyed at the American People for wanting to know if she is qualified? If she doesn't follow any Supreme Court decisions, how is she going to help decide on the 4 positions coming available during the next 4 years?
When asked by Cameron if she wanted to correct, revise or rephrase anything she said in the debate, she said other than the General's name thing, and I quote, "NOPE".
She said that she reacted to Katie Couric's questions in the "flippant" manner she did because she felt Katie should have asked other questions that were more important to the American people. The reason I believe Katie asked about the newspapers and magazines she read was to determine her line of resources and information gathering processes. I do believe that given Sarah's usage of the English language in such comments as "Not got to allow", which she said 3 times in the debate, disqualify her as a journalistic improvement teacher. I will also take Katie as more of an expert on journalistic procedures and interviewing techniques, since she has been doing that particular job longer that Sarah Palin and is very qualified to do that job as well.
If you don't read a variety of publications, either online or in print, where you get the basis for your information to govern this country. Newspapers and magazines not only provide a resource for daily news items across the world, they provide a glimpse into the lives of Americans. From local stuff to world affairs, publications are vital to our world.
Palin didn't know the names of those before she went to Arizona, after the question had been asked the first time.
As each day goes by and we see more and more ads and comments from the McCain-Palin ticket that continue to attack Obama and Biden for stuff that has been broadcast millions of times to be an outright lie, I just cannot be objective or non biased or silent any longer.
We just sat and watched the government sign that damn bailout package with millions of dollars added to it for asshole stuff like wooden arrows for some podunk place in Oregon. Were they filing bankruptcy too? While we sit here and see America floating down that infamous river without a paddle, the Republicans continue to use every single chance they get to open their mouths to talk trash and talk trash and talk trash. No freaking answers, just BS from start to finish.
Sarah Palin stood on stage at the Debate and told Joe, "There you go again, Joe, Bringing up the past, doggone it". Yet, I read this morning the next big attack they are planning on TV is the situation with him and Bill Ayers.
According to CNN, Palin said at a rally, "We see America as the greatest force for good in this world," Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."
Palin cited an article in Saturday's New York Times about Obama's relationship with Ayers, now 63. But that article concluded that "the two men do not appear to have been close. Nor has Mr. Obama ever expressed sympathy for the radical views and actions of Mr. Ayers, whom he has called 'somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8.' "
Also according to the CNN article, Several other publications, including the Washington Post, Time magazine, the Chicago Sun-Times, The New Yorker and The New Republic, have debunked the idea that Obama and Ayers had a close relationship.
It would seem to me that the ENTIRE McCain/Palin campaign has been totally about the "PAST" she is so intent on keeping the other guys from doing!
The sad thing is that is ALL they talk about. No matter what Rally, Debate, Interview or anything else, they never, ever give us any answers.
If you have not heard the latest on Sarah's Troopergate affair, it will probably be stopped completely never to see the light of day again. McCain and the Republicans sent teams of lawyers there and this week there will be a motion to allow the Supreme Court to decide on stopping any further action on this.
Are you watching America? This is Bush/Cheney at its best. They immediately rush in there and squash any more investigating, they can NEVER give even one straight answer to anyone except maybe Fox News, they have used there powers to hide and manipulate this election. Now it is being said that Palin will NOT appear on anymore news shows before the election.
She is annoyed with questions that don't fit the answers she has. She can't answer anything without studying first. Are you getting this picture America?
Should we let people go to Washington who are already sneaking around behind the bushes to win? They have been proven, not my opinion, proven to have continued to LIE, LIE, LIE and haven't gotten out of the past since the beginning. You have to decide.
She is George Bush for the third term. She will tell America to shut up in a second. Remember the speech on the ship about the war. With all his cockiness and self assured attitude, he pronounced we had won the war. Remember speeches made on the White House lawn about issues facing Americans. Sarah is scary like that and John McCain is about to bust to tell her to shut up. Look at his face when she talks.
He is actually, according to many clips in the news, spending more time looking at her breasts and butt, than listening to the babbling coming from her mouth. I wonder if Cindy has noticed? And did you hear his praise of Palin's performance at the debate. He said something like, How bout that Sarah, EH? He did that about 3 times. It sounded like he was talking about his dog.
Distractions folks! Her interviews on Fox, her comments with Carl Cameron, her folksy, stupid attitude at the debate, along with refusal to be honest and fight fair, is a perfect recipe for disaster in the White House. You decide. My country raised, grandpa used to say that you could tell if a man was honest by determining if he was actually talking straight from his heart or talking straight from his neck. McCain and Palin are both neck-talkers.

The flow chart is dead on and so funny. www.adennak.com. Thanks Smorg.
Sarah Palin and Tall Tales is an example of the very same kind of Affirmative Action that conservatives have decried for decades. Rather than giving the running mate spot to someone who is actually qualified, John McCain made his decision based on minority need. He needed a woman in his pathetic attempt to gain what he mistakenly saw as a huge runoff of Hillary supporters. Just as thousands of capable students were denied entry into the finest colleges in the America because they were white or male, so were all the other more qualified candidates denied at shot at eventually becoming President by virtue of JM's death. Sarah Palin only got her chance to reveal bottomless depth of her ignorance and stupidity because of a new brand of Republican Affirmative Action.
