Sarah Palin Divorce... No Kidding

A Sarah Palin Divorce story broke earlier today out of Alaska and it was no surprise. No surprise that somebody somewhere felt appropriate to tell a story about a Sarah Palin divorce. It is no surprise that the idea of a Sarah Palin Divorce would pop into the mind of somebody looking for a little attention. This is not to say that a Sarah Palin divorce is not possible. This is not to say that a Sarah Palin divorce might even be in the immediate future. It is simply to say that in all likelihood a Sarah Palin divorce is prominent in the collective imagination of the nation.

A Sarah Palin divorce would be great. Not in the way that one might imagine. I would actually feel bad for Sarah Palin in the event of a Sarah Palin divorce. I would feel bad for her family if a Sarah Palin divorce would happen. However, the American people are running out of things to talk about in regards to Sarah Palin. Obviously, many people in the country fell in love with her. If they didn't fall in love with her per se, they fell in love with the idea of having a Sarah Palin story every day to look forward to and in that respect, a Sarah Palin divorce would satisfy that need.

I wouldn't wish the sadness that accompanies divorce on anybody. However, a Sarah Palin divorce would be different in that people would once again have a reason to talk about her. Clearly, the English speaking world must be running out of things to discuss when referring to Sarah Palin. A Sarah Palin Divorce would spur conversations and give lonely, unimaginative simple folks something to distract them away from their miserable lives. A Sarah Palin divorce would simply mean something unfortunate is happening to a famous person that isn't happening to me... thank goodness for that.

Truth be told, there probably is no Sarah Palin divorce happening. There are probably no Sarah Palin divorce papers being filed. The Sarah Palin family is in all likelihood doing fine following the post traumatic release of the Sarah Palin divorce news. The world will simply have to be satisfied with her resume as it stands. She was an Alaskan governor. She ran for Vice-President of the United States. She has a large family with various dynamics not unlike many other families in the country. She has been known to say a lot of silly things. The most interesting thing about her to date is that she actually caused David Letterman to apologize about a particular joke. Something I don't think he has ever done in the history of his show. Something I hope he never does again. That was an impressive accomplishment by her. If there is ever a Sarah Palin divorce in the future, I can assure you of two things. It will be unfortunate for some and uninteresting to most.
